Material Handeling
Rotary feeders, also known as rotary valves, are devices used to control the flow of
bulk solid materials from hoppers, bins, or silos into a pneumatic conveying system or other processing equipment.
in a rotary feeder there is a rotating cylinder or drum, which is fitted within a housing.
The drum has pockets or compartments around its exterior. As the drum rotates, these pockets
collect material from a hopper above. The collected material is then released at the bottom as
the drum continues to rotate. The speed of rotation and the size of the pockets determine the
volume of material dispensed, allowing for precise control of the flow rate.
Rotary feeders are commonly used in applications where a consistent and controlled flow of material is required.
